After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7:9-10
Dear HLPC family,
The other day I took part in a Zoom call webinar that was unusual for me. Out of 15 people on the call, I was the only person located in the United States. There were people from 10 different countries participating, mostly in Europe. It was a real joy to meet with others in ministry in this way. It truly brought John’s vision in Revelation 7 to memory. The gospel is a message that is intended for all, regardless of nation, tribe, people, and language. God’s purposes in Christ have always had a worldwide scope in that sense.
As you know, we are hoping to start again our School of Discipleship on Sunday, November 1st. We could still use some teaching help, particularly in the younger age classes. We have an excellent curriculum produced by Great Commission Publications called “Show Me Jesus.” Our goal is to have teaching teams for each class to share the load and to provide built-in backup. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve and to disciple our covenant children here at HLPC!
Today our prayer emphasis in our “6 Weeks of Fervent Prayer” is for peace in our land. I don’t have to tell you about the deep divisions in our nation that have surfaced in several areas. We need the Lord to bring peace–ultimately through the gospel of peace. Please being praying to that end today.
Lastly, thank you so much for the kind expressions of appreciation you shared this past Sunday. As the Psalmist has said, “the lines have fallen for me in pleasant places” (Psalm 16:6) as pastor of HLPC.
Your Pastor,
Paul
