Coming This Fall: Kids’ Quest!
Paul Bankson
As has been mentioned here before our plans for Wednesday nights this fall are to provide a fun way to encourage the kids of HLPC to grow stronger roots in the gospel. We look forward to Kids’ Quest!
What will Kids’ Quest look like? Clad in their new Kids’ Quest t-shirts, our kids will gather after the Wednesday night meal time. There will be a time for singing and then they will break into three age divided groups for a Bible lesson. After that, a time for games or crafts will happen. Before the night is over they can go to one of our designated listeners to earn “Catechism Cash” for memorizng the Children’s Catechism and Scripture. Periodically, our Catechism Store will be open to offer prizes they can purchase with their Catechism Cash. At the end of the evening, kids and parents will gather for a ten minute closing to review what was taught so discussion can happen on the way home and during the week. There will be adult studies offered at this time which includes the women’s study.
The Kids’ Quest curriculum is built upon the children’s catechism that our kids will be learning. This material comes from Great Commission Publications that produces our School of Discipleship “Show Me Jesus” material. You can preview the Kids’ Quest material HERE. We think it will provide a strong foundation for the faith of our covenant children.
There will be a $25 fee per child and confidential scholarships are available. This fee will cover the cost of the t-shirt, take home materials, Catechism store and craft supplies. We strongly encourage you to register your children NOW.
You’ll soon be seeing an information table in the church foyer on Sundays. We could use some more volunteers to help us make this a successful effort. Please, please consider playing a part
