Pray for the people in the path of Hurricane Florence- we are all keeping an eye on the hurricane that is scheduled to make landfall late Thursday night/early Friday. Pray for protection for those in the hurricane’s path. We don’t know yet how our area will be impacted. I’m sure there will be opportunities for us to respond to needs that will arise in affected areas.
The new piano arrives today! We are very excited that the new (to us) Yamaha piano will be in our sanctuary sometime this afternoon. We praise God for the generosity of HLPC members and for how this will enhance our worship on the Lord’s Day and be used in many other ways as well. Please see the FAQ below about this purchase!
Weather permitting, we will have our playground celebration this Sunday- from 4-6PM, in lieu of AWOL, we’ll grill hot dogs, have a fun inflatable set up, play yard games, and welcome our neighbors to the church playground. We hope you’ll come and be especially mindful of guests. Introduce yourselves and welcome them. Pray that this becomes an effective means of building relationships!
Connie and I are happy to be new grandparents- we are grateful to God for the early but safe arrival of Linus Anderson Bankson, born to Andrew and Christina on September 7th. Connie will be going up to Chattanooga tomorrow for a long weekend to help them. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement during this time of blessing. My own grandmother is still alive at age 104 and we hope, by God’s grace, to get a five-generation picture made sometime in the future.
