Dear HLPC family,
Our Missions Week is off to a great start! If you were in our School of Discipleship this past Sunday, you heard two very encouraging missions reports. Shaun Hurrie shared from Capetown, South Africa, via Zoom, of the work he and his family are doing there with Mission to the World. Please pray for Shaun’s wife Becky. He texted me later that after speaking to us he had to take his wife to the emergency room. They are working with doctors to diagnose her health struggles.
We also heard from Clay and Hannah Jones who are preparing to serve with MTW in El Salvador as part of a church planting team. We need to be praying for their support raising efforts and the August target date they have to go on the field. They offered us great vision and challenge for what God is doing to advance His kingdom!
Tonight at 5:30PM is our Midweek meal (for which we trust you signed up) followed by something for all ages at 6:30PM. The kids will enjoy a missions lesson and playtime on the playground while the adults will hear from Tim Kay, Vice President of African Bible College.
The Men of HLPC are urged to come Saturday at 8AM for breakfast! This will be a great time of fellowship with a brief devotional. We need all who are planning to come to sign up!
Lastly, I hope you’ll come back this Sunday for more encouragement. We’ll be hearing from Dr. Noe Acosta and his wife, Mimi, who are dear friends of this church. Dr. & Mrs. Acosta, as you know, are founders of the Reformed Seminary of Latin America. They’ll be sharing during the School of Discipleship and Noe will preach for us in worship. In addition, we’ll get to hear from Cathryn Brown, daughter of Kenny and Katy Rahn. Cathryn, or “Koko” as we know her, has been a familiar face with us and a great encouragement. Koko will update us on the work she and Marshall are doing not only in the Czech Republic but on the African continent! All this is wrapped up with AWOL as we bring dishes to share with an international flavor! Looking forward to this time with you!
Your Pastor,
Paul
