New Year, New Opportunities

As 2014 gets underway I wanted to highlight some news and events in the life of HLPC. I hope you’ll make some of the opportunities for growth, fellowship, and ministry a priority for you and your family!

1. Capital Campaign Update– we are still receiving gifts and pledges so a full update will be coming your way in a week. We still are rejoicing in the “good problem” in that education space, particularly for the kids, is becoming snug. We would love to see a modest sized building raised in order to provide more space for ministry to one of the great blessings at HLPC: the abundance of children! Will you please be praying that God would direct and provide for us? Would you pray about how you can have a part in this?

2. Reasons for Our Hope Conference– February 7-9 we will have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Bill Davis, Professor of Philosophy at Covenant College. Dr. Davis is an engaging teacher who, I believe, will give us desperately needed equipping for defending our faith in this increasing skeptical age in which we live. Please come and sign up for childcare if you need it. Invite anyone you think could benefit! There is no cost other than $5 to help with childcare. Take a flyer from the information table this Sunday that has more details.

3. School of Discipleship– we are off to a great start to 2014 with TWO adult classes in addition to the classes we offer for toddlers up to youth. Brent Drown is teaching a marvelous study in the book of Hebrews and Randy Saye is leading a fascinating study on the Westminster Confession of Faith as seen in its historical context. You’re missing out if you’re not coming at 9:15 on Sunday mornings!

4. HLPC MidWeek – we had a great time and turnout last Wednesday night for our first MidWeek of 2014! Please come and join your church family for a great meal at a great price followed by a study for all ages- kids to adult. Food is served from 5:45-6:30PM and we send you home by 7:30 (youth by 8). Signups are encouraged.
