Dear HLPC family,
Last night the officers of HLPC met for the monthly meeting that occurs the first Tuesday of every month. As is our custom, the Elders and Deacons met jointly and, after a brief devotional and prayer, heard a financial update from our excellent church bookkeeper, Heather Collins. Then we separated into our respective groups to conduct our business. We have much for which to be thankful. Let me count the ways:
- The godly and conscientious leaders God has provided in the Elders and Deacons of HLPC. I hear horror stories from other churches from time to time of difficult leaders. God has been gracious to us. We have a great band of brothers that serve here.
- The HLPC church family that has been supportive, servant-minded, gracious, and patient during truly difficult days. Like many churches, we’ve had to make quick decisions from where and how to meet–and even when. I’ve not heard complaints but only flexibility. I’ve seen people rise up to serve and initiate ministry. I praise God for you.
- God’s gracious provision for our needs as a church though the grace fueled generosity of His people. Our building proper is a $2.4 million facility for which we only borrowed $1.4 million- a great blessing. As of now, we only owe $400k having now paid off $1 million. Also, let us not forget that the youth building, as we call it, was built and paid for in cash–we did not incur any additional debt in seeking the needed educational space. We give God the glory!
Please join me in thanking God for His mercy and grace toward us here at HLPC!
Your Pastor,
Paul
