As I am writing this Randy and Leigh Anne Saye, along with their three sons, are making their move to Americus, Georgia. The truck may be in route to their new house. After several years of ministry here at HLPC as Associate Pastor- and before that as a Ruling Elder- Randy will become the pastor of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Americus. We are excited for the Sayes to have this opportunity and for Randy to pastor this congregation. This is good news for Americus and for the church there. However, in saying goodbye there’s always sadness.
Not only will we miss Randy’s gifts and leadership, particularly for our youth ministry and in music, but we’ll miss Leigh Anne’s gifts and ministry among us as well. She has served in our women’s ministry and in teaching in our School of Discipleship and in various other ways. Their boys, Jon Walter, Daniel, and Jack have all been active in the life of the church and have brought their own enthusiasm and energy to HLPC. The Sayes will be missed indeed. Let’s remember to pray for their transition to life and ministry in Americus.
I hope most of you who are reading this will plan to stay for our special after worship potluck this Sunday in honor of the Saye family. It’ll be our chance to say “thank you” as well as “good-bye.” Bring a casserole or main dish and perhaps a side dish to share. We anticipate a great meal and a great time of fellowship.
