This past weekend as HLPC celebrated our ten years of existence was a great blessing and an answer to many prayers. It was a great time of remembering God’s faithfulness and goodness to us as a church. I thought Dr. Taylor’s message was the perfect challenge for us that while we rejoice in what God has done, let us not rest on nostalgia but to look forward with anticipation how He will use us in the future.
I wanted to thank all who had a hand in making this past weekend come together. That, in and of itself, was a tremendous encouragement. Many of you served us all so well. Thank you for the singing, the testimonies, the decorating, the planning, the serving and bringing of food, and the designing of bulletins and bookmarks. As it says in the title, there are too many to thank properly!
One thing that is a constant with HLPC will be the “hellos” and “goodbyes” that go with being in a military community. We see wonderful individuals and families come and go. That is one of the hardest things I have to deal with as Pastor here. Looking back through the slide show I was reminded of folks who have passed through this church and are now in other places. May God continue to use us to reach and equip the people of Houston County as well as those that we will send away.
Thank you again for being a part of this past weekend. That was a rare blessing for me as a Pastor and I am personally very grateful.
