Dear HLPC family,
The past year was hard on so many–especially our children–as they faced isolation and confusion in the light of COVID. I’m so glad we were able to put together VBS for 2021. No, it’s not quite the big event we’ve had in years past, but due to our late start with preparations because of COVID we made the decision to have it, but with a low-key approach.
This has meant we’ve been able to have a more close-knit time this week. God has been good to us. The curriculum is very Christ centered and our volunteers have been great. The VBS theme is “Goldrush: Discovering the Rock of Ages.” Of course, the Rock of Ages is Jesus! Thank you for praying for the VBS team and for the kids who are participating. Please pray that we finish strong and that the children who are here grow in their faith and feel loved by the church family who are here serving them.
Tomorrow night begins a 6 week summer study on “The Prodigal God” by Tim Keller for the college and post-college crowd. Please join us at the Bankson home Thursday night at 7PM. Don’t worry if you don’t have a book. The first week is an introduction. We hope this will be a time of fellowship and encouragement for all who come.
Your Pastor,
Paul
