Dear HLPC family,
I’m thrilled to announce that we can officially welcome to our church staff, Zach and Olivia Hood, along with their son, Coleman. Zach’s official position will be as Pastoral Intern for Student Ministry. He will be working with our youth and will also be pursuing his Master’s of Divinity (M.Div) degree through Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando utilizing distance education and intensive in-person courses. Zach has about two years remaining toward that degree.
We are excited about Zach’s gifts and his heart for youth ministry, which will be the focus of his work here. This will also be a great opportunity for us, as a church, to encourage Zach as he pursues his calling toward eventual pastoral ministry. We will give him opportunities to help lead in worship, to teach, and even to preach occasionally. I’m personally looking forward to the chance to help Zach avoid many of the mistakes I’ve made along the way of my 30+ years of vocational ministry!
We believe God has greatly blessed HLPC with a vibrant youth ministry and we desire to provide the best we can in quality discipleship and outreach. Our church, along with our community, needs gospel focused ministry designed to reach students for Christ and to equip them to serve Him. The church of future generations needs believers who are well grounded in their faith. Zach shares this vision for youth ministry. We believe in Zach and so are willing to stretch ourselves as a church to pursue this vision.
Much thanks go to our youth ministry team and to Ruling Elder Keith Duvall who spearheaded our efforts to secure Zach and Olivia. Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind you that Olivia is the daughter of Todd and Monica Kinnebrew. We are thankful for the long connection we’ve had with Olivia who grew up in the youth ministry here at HLPC. Please join us in praying for Zach, Olivia, and Coleman as they move from Memphis to Warner Robins. We anticipate their arrival in several weeks.
Your Pastor,
Paul
