Colossians 3:16
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Psalm 95:1-2
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
Mission Statement
Our goal in worship music is ultimately to glorify God and point people to Christ and the gospel, using songs rooted in scripture. At HLPC, we utilize a blend of traditional hymns, psalms, and more contemporary worship songs. We use the Reformed University Fellowship (a ministry of the PCA) hymnbook quite often as well, singing old hymns to new tunes. Our worship team consists of piano, guitar, bass guitar, singers, and light percussion.
Choir
This is a great way to serve our church by providing worshipful music and making a joyful noise unto God. I find that being in a choir gives you a sense of being a part of the kingdom of God; many voices joining as one for the purpose of bringing Him glory. It’s an experience unlike any other.
